TOP 3 Hits of the week:) June 13, 2012

I'm back, a week delayed from posting my top 3 picks, I got caught up with Mom duties and special projects last week. But none the less, I feel these songs deserve your full attention. A hit in the making from Imagine Dragons called It's Time, this group is  a four-piece indie rock band, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, honestly I've never heard of them nor sang along with any of their hits, but I find the beat of It's Time rousing. The intro, is reminiscent of my elementary cheering squad with the grade school music students  playing bandurria(a plectrum chordophone from Spain) on the side.  Let's give this a listen and tell me what you think after.

Next on my list is the latest from Will.i.am ft. Eva Simons - This Is Love, the intro sounds a little like Bruno Mars' Grenade oh well that's just my take. We all know who Will i.am is, but who is Eva Simons, I learned that Eva Simons  is a Dutch singer-songwriter. She started her music career at 18 when she auditioned for the Dutch "Popstars the Rivals", eventually joining the girl group Raffish before leaving the group to focus on a solo career. Hmm let's see if this girl shines in this song, This is LOVE in the MIX.

This next track will keep you guessing. Makes you wonder if you're listening to a 50's? 60's? or 90's hit? But for sure The Walk will leave you breathless from rapping and singing. The man behind it is  Andrew Mayer Cohen, better known by the stage name Mayer Hawthorne, an American singer, producer, songwriter, arranger, audio engineer, DJ, rapper and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, California, USA.  The stage name "Mayer Hawthorne" is a combination of Cohen's real middle name (Mayer) and the name of the street he grew up on in Michigan (Hawthorne Rd).  Enough said, let's keep that tongue moving with THE WALK, sing with me!!
