Celebrate Kadayawan 2012

Davao City is now on full blast on its biggest and most spectacular festival this August - the Kadayawan Festival 2012 with this year's theme, Ten Tribes One Vibe.

The word "Kadayawan" is derived from the friendly greeting "Madayaw," from the Dabawenyo word "Dayaw" which means "good," "valuable," "superior" or "something that brings good fortune." It is a celebration of good life, a grand thanksgiving for the year's blessings of bountiful harvest of flowers, fruits and other agricultural produce, and to honor the city's richness and diversity of artistic, cultural and historical heritage. The festival is celebrated every 3rd Week of August every year.

Hudyakaan sa Kadayawan: August 1-20, 5PM-2AM, Rizal Park

Agri-Trade Fair: August 1-27, 8AM- 8PM, SM City Parking Area

Davao City Trivia Exhibit: “Know Your Culture” – August 13-22 , NCCC Mall, SM City Davao, Abreeza Mall/and People’s Park;

 The Great Kadayawan Trade Fair and Bazaar 2012: August 16-19, Davao Trade and Convention Center;

 Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan: August 18, 8AM (from Roxas Avenue to San Pedro Street)

 Revelry 2012: August 18, 8PM-2AM, El Gato, Rancho Palos Verdes;

 Pamulak Kadayawan: August 19 – Pamukaw 5 AM, around Davao City/ Floral Float Parade, starts at 7AM (from Roxas Avenue to San Pedro Street);

 Moda Mindanaw: August 19, 5PM, SM City Davao;
