An 80s love affair

I had an 80's band a long time ago called AC we played mostly 80's adult contemporary music. I was only suppose to shake the maracas and hum along with our lead vocalist Mike Libot but ended up singing half the playlist. It's something that I don't see myself doing again, or maybe not in this lifetime. Haha I still laugh at myself for saying yes to singing in a band because one: the only time you will hear me sing then was when I'm in the comfort room, second:  Even if I sound like a Diva on the radio doesn't mean I am a singer, third : I'm not a singer. Surprisingly, gigs abound and we were DC's hottest band for several months till my group mates decided to disband, and I still wonder why? Oh well life goes on and the only memory I have left of AC are the songs I sang, the fact that I met my husband on one of our gigs and pictures... 

Told yah! This is not a front act, we were the MAIN act!

Good times! haha too funny to recall this one! if my memory serves me right we were singing ALIGHT!

All I can do is smile when I have no idea what he's singing lol

A group from PLDT Manila asked if I can sing "Alone again naturally" for the second time, the guy even offered money, natural I said "okey lang po, we'll play it again for you" and sang with pakurapkurap effect.:)

Check out this weeks first heard first played tracks on MIXFM. Hits in the making, get to decide who stays for the rest of the month or maybe for the year.

 I've tried researching for the first track entitled  Sunglasses  all I know is that artist Sophia behind it is a youtube sensation. I can't even find the lyrics to her song.  I listened to it and ahhhh nothing really extraordinary, it doesn't have that beat that will make it stand out and make me want to listen to it again. In fact the intro sounds like Adam Lambert's What do you want from me and she sounds a little like Karmin.  Although Sunglasses has that 90s/2000 vibe to it. I bet Marie Digby, Michelle Branch fans or the  90s/early 2000 babies will enjoy this a lot.

TOP 3 Hits of the week:) June 13, 2012

I'm back, a week delayed from posting my top 3 picks, I got caught up with Mom duties and special projects last week. But none the less, I feel these songs deserve your full attention. A hit in the making from Imagine Dragons called It's Time, this group is  a four-piece indie rock band, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, honestly I've never heard of them nor sang along with any of their hits, but I find the beat of It's Time rousing. The intro, is reminiscent of my elementary cheering squad with the grade school music students  playing bandurria(a plectrum chordophone from Spain) on the side.  Let's give this a listen and tell me what you think after.

We all know who Will i.am is, but who is Eva Simons, I learned that Eva Simons  is a Dutch singer-songwriter. She started her music career at 18 when she auditioned for the Dutch "Popstars the Rivals", eventually joining the girl group Raffish before leaving the group to focus on a solo career. Hmm let's see if this girl shines in this song, This is LOVE in the MIX.
